Plant-based science to keep you, you.
BNS Neuro studies natural compounds that interfere with tau aggregation, one of the key protein changes behind Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We develop supplements grounded in laboratory evidence, and we explain that evidence openly.
Dementia is common.
Much of the risk is not fixed.
Two proteins, one complicated story
Alzheimer’s disease involves two misbehaving proteins. Amyloid-β clumps into plaques between neurons. Tau, which normally stabilizes the neuron’s internal skeleton, twists into tangles inside them and can spread from cell to cell.
Most approved drugs target amyloid. Tau tangles, however, appear in Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, CTE and other tauopathies. That shared role is why we focus on tau.
Tau & amyloid, explained
Understand dementia before it’s personal
Our education hub covers what dementia is, who it affects, how it’s diagnosed and treated, and what you can do today.
Types of dementia
Alzheimer’s, vascular, Lewy body and frontotemporal dementia: how they differ, and why they often overlap.

Cognitive reserve
Why some brains full of plaques and tangles keep working, and how a “trained” brain resists decline.

Treatments today
What the new anti-amyloid drugs offer, who qualifies, and what the experts say about their risks.
Read moreFrom screening to behavior
Every candidate compound moves through a staged, preclinical research pipeline built around tau.
Screen
Natural compounds are screened in tau biosensor cells that light up when tau aggregates.
Inhibit
Promising flavonoids are tested for their ability to block tau fibril formation.
Model
Extracts are applied to cell models seeded with Alzheimer’s-derived tau.
Validate
Long-term oral dosing in an established Alzheimer’s mouse model, with memory testing.
